About Marina

Marina Kouzmenkova is a chamber musician and cello teacher in Bergen county NJ. She has been a cellist with the Royal Violins Trio since 2004, with Agitato Strings since 2008, and since October 2007, has performed regularly with the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra. Her first public performance with the orchestra took place on October 7th, 2007 at New York City’s Carnegie Hall.

Marina emigrated from Belarus to the U.S. in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree at the Minsk State College of Music in 1984 and in 1990, she earned a Master of Music degree from Belarus State Conservatory. Marina studied with Natalia Shpeneva (cello pedagogy), Irene Stepanova (cello performance) and Irene Galochkina (chamber ensemble). Between 1989 and 1997, Marina was a full time cello teacher at Children Music School N.11. In 1997, Marina became a member of the Belarus State Philharmonic Orchestra. As an orchestra musician, she performed with celebrities like Dora Shvartsberg, Nikolay Petrov, Aleksandr Kniazev. Between 1997 and 2000, Marina toured Spain, France and Switzerland.
